The Color of Arctic Foxes’ Fur Changes Seasonally.

Arctic foxes change their fur color depending on the season. In the winter, their fur is thick and white. In the summer, they shed their heavy winter coats and develop thinner, shorter fur that ranges in color from shades of gray to charcoal brown to blueish brown. These changes don’t just help with thermal insulation, they also help the foxes blend in with their surroundings, which change with the seasons.
