Sundews are a type of carnivorous plant that uses a sticky nectar to trap prey. Depending on the species, these plants grow in the wet, acidic soil found in bogs, fens, swamps, and sandy streambanks, or in areas with lots of sphagnum moss, or in sandy soil that is nutrient-poor but dry for large portions of the year. In fact, sundews can be found on every continent except Antarctica!
