Saturn is a gas giant and therefore does not have a solid surface. Instead, the planet is mostly made up of swirling gasses and, deeper down, liquids. Despite not having a solid surface, it’s not possible for objects such as spacecraft to pass through the planet unscathed; Saturn’s extreme pressures and temperatures would cause catastrophic damage.
