Ringtails can move along cliffs and ledges by ricocheting between two rocky walls. They can also climb in small crevices by putting their backs against one side and all four of their feet against the other. Additionally, by rotating their hind feet 180 degrees, they are able to negotiate rapid, headfirst vertical descents.
