Puppies respond to humans speaking in a sing-song, “baby talk” voice. However, according to one study, adult dogs are not necessarily any more responsive to baby talk than to a human’s regular speaking voice. Scientists don’t know exactly why this is the case, but it’s thought that puppies may be wired to respond to high-pitched sounds.
