Older Whooping Cranes Are Better Navigators.

Whooping Cranes are not born with the ability to find and follow the same flight route each year, so it falls to the oldest members of the migration group to navigate and pass their knowledge on to younger members. Scientists don’t know why older group members make better navigators, but it’s thought that they may be more experienced at spotting landmarks while in flight.
