Most of the Ocean Floor Is Located in the Abyssopelagic Zone.

Roughly 75% of the ocean floor is located within the Abyssopelagic Zone, which refers to a section of the ocean that is between 4,000 meters to 6,000 meters deep (13,100 to 19,700 ft.). In most parts of the ocean, the Abyssopelagic Zone is the oceanic zone that contains the sea floor. However, it isn’t the deepest oceanic zone — that’s reserved for trenches and caverns that extend even further down than the sections of the ocean floor found in the Abyssopelagic Zone.
