Komodo Dragons can see objects up to 985 feet (300 meters) away, but their retinas only possess cones, so they have poor vision in dim light and are better at seeing movement than stationary objects. Their vision does play a role in their hunting strategy, but their excellent sense of smell is far more important than their sense of sight.
