Black-Trailed Prairie Dogs are primarily crepuscular during the warmer months, meaning they spend the hottest part of the day sleeping and are most active at dusk and dawn. However, their behavior is also influenced by the weather: in cooler or overcast weather, they may stay above ground all day, while rain often keeps them underground.
