Beavers Have Special Toes.

Beavers have special toes (the second from the inside) on each of their hind feet. Called preening toes, they are used as a comb to prevent a beaver’s fine, soft fur from matting and to maintain its waterproofing and insulating properties. A beaver’s preening toes can also be used to remove burrs and parasites.
