American Goldfinches Share Parenting Duties.

American Goldfinches share parental responsibilities. Both male and female parents feed nestlings. At first, males will bring food to the nest and the female will then feed it to their young. Then, for a period of time, both parents feed their nestlings. However, the male will typically take over feeding duties in later stages until the young birds eventually leave the nest, usually around 11 - 17 days after hatching.
